Originally this page started out as a section on days and walks on
Dartmoor but now has slightly extended its range to cover visits to
other areas. I am fortunate in the fact that my day to day work takes me
all over the West Country, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and the
Welsh Borders. Over the past 20 years I have visited many of the
archaeological and historical sites within these counties, some of which
now hold a deep fascination and affection. Therefore you will find amongst these pages some of these places along
with the Dartmoor days. I suppose in a way it's a 'blog' although I have
never been able to work out what distinguishes a blog from a website.
There will be no daily log as most of my travelling is fairly uneventful
and work related but it is hoped that somewhere along the 40,000 annual
miles there will be a few places of interest. Hopefully 2007 will be
less hectic and there will be the chance to get out on the moor more
with the odd Xcursion to other places. I know the dog will second that
motion as there are numerous rocks he hasn't peed up for ages.
Despite giving OS grid references a few people have said
that they spent a lot of time looking for some of the places not on
Dartmoor on Dartmoor so anything with a * against it is not on Dartmoor
if that makes sense.
