The www.legendarydartmoor.co.uk website has been in existence since 2005 and to date has received over 3,000,000 visitors from all over the globe. There are now 749 separate pages which cover a large range of topics, from archaeology to folklore and history to mystery. Although primarily related to the very popular Dartmoor National Park the website's visitors span a whole range of interests and hobbies. Some of the content has been used in a whole range of publications including local to national media platforms.
Below is a graph showing the monthly visitor numbers which are defined by the web host, 1and1 as being;
"All page impressions from the same computer are summarised as one visit. The visits are uniquely identified on the basis of the IP address and the browser ID. As several people may share a computer (e.g. in a cybercafé), the number of visits may not be the same as the number of visitors."
As can be seen, on a Moving Annual Total basis each month sees a minimum of 35,000 visitors to the www.legendarydartmoor.co.uk website and in most cases this figure is exceeded.
The latest (June 2012) site analytical report details the visitor numbers from each continent and as can be seen below the majority visitors are from Europe and North America. Of these 40.82% of the Europe total are from the U.K. and 40.68% of the North American numbers are from the U.S.A.
